New! Trifle is nostalgic, comforting and oh-so-British – as soon as you eat a spoonful you are transported to good times, perhaps families at Christmas, or other get togethers with friends. Trifle speaks to gatherings of people. This recipe is your classic straight up British fruit and jelly trifle.
We’re calling them Triflets because they are individually portioned – fruit topped with jelly, generous chunks of homemade Victoria sandwich cake smeared with jam, all topped off with a gorgeous creme anglaise infused with vanilla pod and a tiny hint of citrus extract to give a bit of lift.
‘Ah yeah, Heathen Vegans are going to love these,’ said Tim when he came to test the final iteration… And then there was silence as we consumed a pudding that has stood the test of time.
A certain number of these will be made each week and the website will monitor stock, and when they’re gone, they’re gone. It’s the only way to make them fresh whilst managing the other kitchen duties. It’s a very technical pudding to make in vegan form. We’re glad to bring this to you, and think you will love them as much as we do.
Sent with pouring cream (at the moment). I think we’re nearly there with a whipped cream topping.
