A good ol’ fashioned northern cake, often associated with Yorkshire and very popular in Lancashire too, it’s traditional to eat this on Guy Fawkes night in chunks around the bonfire. It’s dense and moist, rich with molasses. We’ve grated in fresh ginger to give some proper heat and ginger flavour.
Servings: this is a good big loaf cake so you can cut chunks to suit you. 8 thick slices here.
